New Beginning

Do not remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing!
Isaiah 43:18-19

God crested us to NEED new beginnings– places where we can release our faith and say, “This is place of new beginnings for me, a place to have a fresh start.” The moment of a new year is always a good time for a fresh start.

We can experience the abundant life Jesus says we can have, but it requires making a decision to let go of the past. Unless we refuse to go on the way we have been, no change will come. God wants to change things for us, but He is waiting for our total cooperation.

Seldom do our circumstances change without something first changing in us. So if we want to experience God’s ‘new thing’ this year, release our faith right now and say, “This is a place of new beginnings for me.” Then watch for the results with HOPE.

but what is HOPE?
i read once from a Joyce Meyer’s book before. Hope = the happy anticipation of good things. meaning, we can hope for something good to happen to us by learning how to celebrate and enjoy life.

Everything in life is a process in motion. Without movement and progression there is no life. As long as we live,we are always heading somewhere, and we should enjoy myself on the way. God created us to be a goal-orientated visionary. Without a vision, we will become bored and hopeless.

But there’s something about hope that makes pple lighthearted and happy. Hope is a powerful spiritual force that is activated through our positive attitude. God is positive things to happen to us, but that probably won’t happen unless you have hope and faith.

Expect God to bring good out of every circumstance in our life. Whatever happens, trust in the Lord and in the power of hope.

a year of breakthroughs
a year of growing up
a year of knowing myself much more
a year of battles
a year of despair and depressions
a year which huiyu isn’t like that huiyu in 2007

but all i shld do now is to

REMEMBER LOT’S WIFE
which is simply to FORGET and LOOK FORWARD.

let pray that 2009 will be the best year yet.
gonna start making goals and filling up the boxes in that goal-setting card
start to have directions for the new year to come.

by the way, the year 2008 is not only a leap year but also has one more second.

Exams + Post Exams

exams this time round was ok, at least i only had one module.
i can be really focused on that and give all out for it.
i did pretty ok, managed to pull up my cap more than i expected. those were tough times in the family though but i held on to the promises of God and trusted in His strength.

right after the paper, i went to holland v’s mexician restaurant then to Häagen-Dazs to celebrate and chill

then after exams, which also marks the end of my internship in Philips the next day…

then were a serials of post-exam, post-intern “celebrations” by ourselves at

bugis and westcoast plaza
fish&co, b&j (yeahness, both my fav)

then a saturday at sentosa and changi airport
my long awaited bakerzin and the battle with tigerair

it was a time of ups and downs for us though.
things won’t smooth even though exams were over and when we thought everything will be much more relaxing and we will have the time of the world to go pah tuo
lotsa expectations of a good holiday or rest ahead were broken, fell to nought….

i didnt even haf time to enjoy slacking times before thanksgiving and Christmas comes our way…

time check
3.43am

just finished taking a quick bath after reaching home from sound.
it was children church Christmas rehearsal just now.

from 6pm till ard 3am.
shag-ness
plus hafta wake up at 6am later for the actual children church
left with mere 2 hrs of sleep.
dono how the little children can take it, so qiang.

later in the evening,there’s still thanksgiving.

i only went for 2 sessions….

it’s during my exam period…. not a very good excuse though.

at least i devoted my whole sat to AC.

manning my comms from 2pm to 10pm.

8hrs of that earpiece in my ear, it’s hard not to feel the pain after that.

8hrs of the need to stay very alert and up to hear from the noisy background

and after that, i still have tons of wires to sort out. argh.

3metres, 5metres, 10 metres, 20metres.

one thing i really learnt above all the sermon messages….

trust God, be faithful in little things, many times they are the sai gang, not one of the so significant things…

for this, knowing in ur head is not enough, ur action and ur experience of going thru it is much more impt.

after being in sound for 1.5years, though times in sound tend to be more intense, critical and up and tight, i would say i learn alot and in many ways.

not only the technical part, but also how the church really operates as we work very close to the pastors.

many times i will hear stories how those who are high up in the board work. and many times, i realised it’s really the little things, the faithful little things that make them different, and that make them good servants that are serving pastor directly. their hearts and minds are so focused on serving pastor and i feel so far. they are true, mature sons and daughters of God.

in sound, it also make me learn that many times we will think the things we do are so insignificant and small as compared to others in a ministry or cellgroup but these are the little things that are important and things cannot go on without. and every single person and role in the ministry, team for the svc and cell group is vital and without any, it’s just losing a leg or a hand to a human being. as everyone of us do our little part to contribute and be faithful, not despise whatever we are doing, together we can then function as a effective body of Christ. a body cant work efficiently w/o any part of it, even a finger is important.
